Fossil Fuel Fashion Campaign

Building on several years of investigations and research into fashion’s over-reliance on fossil fuels, The Fossil Fuel Fashion campaign aims to spotlight the intrinsic links between fossil fuels and fashion during climate talks where the fashion’s climate impact is traditionally under-represented, and ensure fashion is included in the call for a fair phase out of fossil fuels.

As Design Director for the campaign, I led the creation of its visual identity, collaborating closely with campaign managers and stakeholders to develop a cohesive look and feel. To craft the headline imagery, I utilized AI to generate key elements, such as mountains of clothing and oil slicks, and combined these in Photoshop to produce four impactful visuals that became central to our campaign materials.

Additionally, I designed a dedicated mini website, along with social and print assets, and developed branding for high-profile campaign events, including a panel at New York Climate Week and a roundtable at the Brussels Parliament.

Campaign partners include the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, Earthrise Studios, Fashion Revolution, Stand.Earth, Geneva Center for Business & Human Rights, We are Family Foundation and the Rockerfeller Brother’s Fund.

We Wear Oil with Sophia Kianni

To boost the campaign's online visibility and engagement, we collaborated with climate activist Sophia Kianni to create a viral video exposing the fashion industry's reliance on fossil fuels. Partnering with Bright Colours Studio in NYC, I was the editor on the film, and made sure it was optimized for social media platforms. Additionally, I leveraged AI software to correct an audio issue.

The video was published on Vogue Arabia's Instagram account in collaboration with influential partners like Feminist, Earthrise Studio, Intersectional Environmentalist, and Fashion Revolution, garnering over 29,000 likes and significantly amplifying the campaign's reach.
