Rana Plaza - 2 years on

film editing

At 8:45 am, on 24th April 2014, the Rana Plaza garment factory in the Savar Upazila or Dhaka, Bangladesh, collapsed, killing 1,130 workers and injuring 2,500. The building's owners ignored warnings to avoid using the building after cracks had appeared the day before.

Garment workers were ordered to return the following day, and the building collapsed during the morning rush-hour. Three years on from the accident, Eco-Age and Thomson Reuters visited Dhaka and the site of the collapse, to see if anything had changed.
